Advertising & affiliate disclosures

My Expensive Hobbies is an independent information website. The initial version does not include paid product links or display advertising, and no retailer has paid for the guides shown here.

How the site may earn money

In the future, we may earn commissions when visitors follow appropriately labeled affiliate links and make qualifying purchases, or earn revenue from clearly identified advertising. If affiliate links are introduced, we will disclose the relationship near the relevant content. A commission will not change the price paid to us by a retailer.

Editorial approach

We aim to distinguish factual specifications from opinions, calculations and estimates. Some content is developed with AI assistance; this should not be mistaken for personal experience or independent laboratory testing. Actual product instructions and manufacturer specifications should govern your purchase and installation decisions.

No guarantees

Buying information, equipment availability and specifications change. Verify current information with the manufacturer or seller before spending money. The site is informational and is not engineering, marine installation, or safety certification advice.
