Corrections & editorial policy

Good equipment advice needs traceable sources and a willingness to correct mistakes.

What our guides establish

Product selections identify equipment to investigate for a specific job. They do not establish compatibility with an unseen vehicle or boat. Manufacturer manuals, model numbers and current ratings take precedence over a general buying guide.

What belongs in a correction

A useful correction identifies the article, the disputed statement, the exact product or configuration, and a primary source that explains the difference. Distinguish a changed specification from an error in the original explanation.

Public submissions

A public contact inbox is not currently available. This website has no message-submission form and does not collect correction reports.

Research and updates

The buying sections display their research date and link to manufacturer or retailer documentation. Product specifications, availability and model revisions can change. Check the linked source before ordering.
